What You Don’t See is a colourful exploration of the characteristics of film and light. Bold streaks of colour deprived of form or representation allow the viewer to seek pleasure in the disruption between the abstracted colour and lack of any anchoring motifs or objects. Using coloured LED lights and reflective papers the film is exposed to a random pattern of light, the results of which can be unpredictable. This unpredictability and visual disruption are themes I continually work with, experimenting with both analogue and digital processes.
